Cloud Lodge Books’s Submission Guidelines
http://grumpyrhinogames.com/five-hopes-launches-15th-april-2015/ CLB IS NOT ACCEPTING NEW SUBMISSIONS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Whilst we prefer to receive agented submissions, previously published authors with completed, professionally-edited novels may query CLB as per the following submission guidelines:
We accept unsolicited submissions ONLY by email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please email a query letter, a synopsis of between 1000 to 2000 words that sets out the entire story arc (i.e., beginning, middle, and end) and the major plot points, and the first three chapters (or the first 30,000 words) of the novel for consideration.
Electronic versions of a manuscript should be in one file, not in separate files for each chapter or section. Use Microsoft Word, double spaced, and 12pt Times New Roman font.
Kindly include details such as word count (of the complete manuscript), genre and target audience as well as the author’s name and contact details. Any relevant biographical information about the author should also be included, including any reference to any previously published work.
Once received, a submission will be considered by a commissioning editor, who will assess content, subject matter, suitability for our imprints and its chances of success in the market. If the editor considers the work to be appropriate the author will be asked to submit the complete manuscript for further consideration before a decision is made on whether CLB will make an offer to publish.
All submissions that make it to the final stages of review are put forward for a traditional publishing contract.
Special Note re Science Fiction submissions:
All science fiction subgenres are welcome as long as they are original, thought-provoking and have strong characters. Plots should be built on sound scientific or social foundations.
Diversity is vitally important to science fiction as it grounds the genre in reality and allows under-represented groups to imagine their own future.
